The best Hygge blogs are the ones that you, the reader, can relate to in real life. A simple Google search will tell you what “Hygge” is. It’s a Norwegian word that means comfort, cozy, nostalgic sense of well-being (in case you are coming late to the conversation).
But people don’t just want to know what Hygge is; they want to learn how to live it and bring it into their version of life. We have tried to do just that in our Enchanted Perspective corner of the blogosphere. We call Hygge “Comfort and Joy” because that is precisely what it feels like to us. We want to help you FEEL what we are talking about. We hope we have created that for you in our own blogs about Hygge. The 10 Principles Of Hygge That Will Change Your Life
What We Found.
To say something is the best is…just an opinion—just our opinion. But here are what we feel are some excellent, well-done, engaging, and fun Hygge blogs created by some lovely women. We haven’t read every Hygge blog online, but we feel these are some of the best. So, let’s get cozy. Get your afghan and your cup of tea. Put on some good music, and let’s see what we can find. Here are our favorites in no particular order.
The Best Hygge Blogs We’ve Found #1: Sarah K. Voiles
Sarah seems to really understand Hygge and Slow Living. She apparently lives in the Cascade Mountains in the good ole USA. Been there! Those are some beautiful mountains. We can see where she gets her inspiration in her blogs about nature and a more simple life.
Her topics are a great mix of “How to” and her own perspective of what Hygge living looks like. She also has a lovely mix of seasonal blogs, poetry, and helping others manage their own emotional gymnastics.
Sarah shares her own journey to a less complicated life. She shows her appreciation for the simple things and the essential things we can’t take for granted. Her blog encourages self-discovery, personal growth, and the nurturing of what really matters. Since that is also our wheelhouse, we recognize her genuine hope to teach her readers to do the same. The Best Hygge Blogs We’ve Found #2: Hygge At Home Blog
Hygge At Home is quite the find and is based in the UK. This is not only a blog but a place where you can curate your own Hygge gift basket. It could be for yourself or anyone you would like to share a little coziness in a sweet, surprise kind of way.
There are many things to choose from, like teas, candles, creative projects, oils, lotion bars, and warm socks. All gifts are artisan products from around the UK. They personally choose or hand-make everything that they offer. They’ll even include a handwritten note with your basket. Just tell them what you would like to say. Then, they will ship it worldwide. If you sign up for their webpage, you can even unlock a discount code.
The blog shares ideas for living a Hygge existence and ways to take good care of yourself in a healthy, organic way. It seems to make it easy to incorporate Hygge into your home.
The Best Hygge Blogs We’ve Found #3: Hello Hygge
Kayleigh is in the UK and loves all things Scandinavian. The BBC featured her blog, and she just seems fun to us. Her writing feels fresh and current with a hint of nostalgia. Her topics cover a lot of territory while staying so on the topic of what feels cozy, sweet, comforting, and just makes life nicer.
Although we have never spoken with Kayleigh, we are guessing that she writes like she talks. We find that personable, relatable, and connecting. As American Bloggers, we can even sense a hint of what is probably a lovely British accent in there somewhere.
We find Kayleigh’s blog informative and helpful, with various valuable perspectives. Most importantly, we see her website to be (as all good Hygge Blogs should be)…comforting and cozy. The 10 Principles Of Hygge That Will Change Your Life
The Best Hygge Blogs We’ve Found #4: Hygge Design
Jane calls herself a minimalist and a simple living enthusiast who likes finding joy in the simple things. Well…that sounds like someone who would know about Hygge Design. Her blog gives some great ideas about things like how to decorate a wall with a fireplace or the five must-haves for a Hygge-style home.
She also shows you some excellent home floor coverings and where to shop for them. Now, doesn’t that make things easy? Jane also adds some more Dutch words to your vocabulary. We particularly enjoyed her blog about “Friluftsliv” and how to bring the outdoors inside. This was new information for even us, and it’s really good stuff.
In addition, she blogs about holistic ways to take care of yourself, like Hygge skincare, and why coffee is good for you. We’ve not met Jane, but anyone who can list why a cup of coffee is a health food is our kind of woman.
The Best Hygge Blogs We’ve Found #5: Bella Grace Magazine
Our fifth best Hygge blog is not a blog at all. Before there were blogs, there were good old-fashioned magazines. Bella Grace is our all-time favorite magazine (which also happens to be a Hygge heaven of cozy information). The 10 Principles Of Hygge That Will Change Your Life
If you love the feel of paper, you will adore Bella Grace. Their cover has a smooth, creamy texture. Every issue has beautiful photography and words that always mean something special to you. They also have no ads in their publication, and most photographs and articles are submitted by people like you.
They allow their readers to submit articles and photographs for upcoming magazines. If you have a story with pictures, send it. But if you only have one or the other, submit that, and they will match your work with someone else’s.
Bella Grace is the coziest magazine we have ever read. Every picture and article exudes comfort, nature, simple living, and being the real you. Some pages ask you a question about your life experience that you’ve probably not thought about before. This adds a nice journaling effect to your reading.
It only comes out quarterly. Once you discover Bella Grace, you’ll be standing on your head with the rest of us, excited about the next edition. There have been times when their entire magazine is about Hygge. But regardless, there are always articles about cozy living, simple living, and living what matters. So… okay, it’s not a blog, but it’s what blogging used to be.
Bella Grace will be the perfect companion for a cup of tea, your warm blankie, and your favorite kitty on your lap. It makes a great focal point for a Hygge Sunday afternoon.
So There You Go.
These are our ideas for the best Hygge blogs. We appreciate that, like us, these writers want to give the best possible information in the most honest and sincere way. We love genuineness, simple and slow living, nature, and coziness. We’ve never met any of these lovely women, but we feel like a cup of coffee in overstuffed chairs by the fireplace would make for some great conversation and sharing. We could learn a lot from each of them and maybe share some of our Enchanted Perspectives.
